Concrete Foundation Repair
Cracks in concrete can be considered somewhat of a natural occurrence. In older areas, it’s just something that is going to happen. Not every single crack that you see should be a cause for major concern. It seems like we keep repeating this but, it’s just a good idea to keep a watchful eye on your concrete surfaces. If a crack develops out of the blue and it starts to rapidly expand, waste no time in giving us a call. Since these are usually signs that you can have a bigger issue on your hands!
Not Necessarily A Foundation Issue The fact that you are seeing cracks in your foundation, for example, does not necessarily have to indicate that you have a concrete foundation repair issue. At least not with the foundation that your home is sitting on. This really depends on how the home was built. Now, that doesn’t mean that you can take things a bit more lightly. If you have cracks in your foundation, or in a driveway there is still a chance that there is a problem that needs to be taken care of. It’s just that it is probably not a problem that is going to put your house in jeopardy. Concrete Repair Methods The extent of the damage that we find is usually going to determine the type of method that we use in the concrete foundation repair process. Leveling out the concrete or replacing the concrete slab entirely are some of the things that we are going to be doing in order to fix what we can consider large scale issues. In other situations just actually sealing the concrete can go a long way in not only masking, but truly repairing some of these problems. Some of these smaller problems, as we’ve mentioned can just be age signs. Complete Slab Repair If we find that the damage to the concrete is severe we are not just going to be able to make do with filling the cracks. We are going to have to go in and remove the slab that we find is not up to par with the rest of the concrete. Then replace it with an entirely new slab after we have made sure that the base of the structure is smooth as it should be. This is pretty much the way that we are going to be fixing some of the major problems that we happen to come across. Driveway & Patio Repairs As we’ve mentioned, usually the type of concrete repairs that we do in driveways and most patios are not going to have a direct impact on the concrete base that your home is actually sitting on. Cracks or problems with these areas are not going to directly indicate that you have a problem in your home foundation. They could be a good warning sign though. Just to give you that little push to make sure that you have your entire home checked out to ensure that you won’t have to deal with any type of issues moving forward. |
